The owner

I’m Selvendran Narasingam. Most people call me Selva.

My earlier work included lead paint investigation in Hudson County on behalf of the State of New Jersey, on childhood lead-hazard cases. That work shapes how I look at a property. When I walk through a building I am looking at friction surfaces, window troughs, and the dust nobody sees — the places that actually matter, rather than the places that are easy to photograph.

I also have more than fifteen years in construction. That is the half most environmental specialists do not have, and it is the reason we can tell an owner not just what is wrong, but what it genuinely takes to put the building back together afterward.

I perform and supervise the work personally. When you call, you get the licensed contractor who will be standing in your property, not a scheduler.

Experience

Where the two halves meet

Environmental evaluation and construction are usually different careers. Holding both is what makes the difference on an older-building project.

Lead evaluation

Lead paint inspection, XRF testing, risk assessment and dust-wipe sampling — including earlier investigation work carried out on behalf of the State of New Jersey.

Lead abatement

Licensed abatement of identified hazards, including Health Department cases and program-directed work.

Asbestos

Building survey and sampling before demolition and renovation, and licensed abatement where removal is required.

Construction

More than fifteen years, and a New Jersey home improvement contractor registration — carpentry, drywall, finishes, windows, doors and exterior work.

Program & municipal work

Grant and rehabilitation program scopes, health-department submissions, notifications and permit coordination.

Property evaluation

Building and property inspection experience, which informs how a scope gets written before anything is priced.

Independence where it is required. Independent post-abatement clearance is coordinated with an appropriately qualified independent provider when required, so the sign-off on our own abatement work is never our own.

Clear pricing. Scopes are written against the property, not from a template. Permit fees are passed through at actual cost with no markup, and payment terms are written into the contract before anything begins.

Reports written for review. Documentation is prepared for the party that will actually read it — a municipal health department, a program administrator, a building department or a project team.
